A great big welcome to our examiner for the MAY Trinity College London session of exams!

ALISON ROSE trained as an actress at The Drama Centre London and has played leading roles in classical and contemporary plays including Miss Hoyden in ‘The Relapse’, Vladimir in ‘Waiting for Godot’, Polly Peachum in ‘The Threepenny Opera’, Dolly in ‘You Never Can Tell’, Bess in ‘The Fair Maid of The West’ and Kate Hardcastle in ‘She Stoops To Conquer’. For The RSC she was in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, ‘Richard 111’, ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’, ‘Downchild’ and ‘Crimes in Hot Countries’ by Howard Barker, and ‘Today’ by Robert Holman, travelling with the company to LA and New York to play Tilda Price and The Infant Phenomenon in ‘Nicholas Nickleby’, directed by Trevor Nunn and John Caird. She also performed her one woman play ‘Tussy’, adapted from the letters of Eleanor Marx, as part of the Not the RSC Fringe Festival in Stratford, Newcastle and at the Almeida and King’s Head Theatres in London. More recent theatre roles include Mrs Bennet in ‘Pride and Prejudice’, Antigone in ‘Oedipus at Colonus’, Woman in ‘Grief, Love and Costa Coffee’, Pearl in ‘Pearl, Apple, Penguin’, Granny in’ Porridge Boy, the Musical and Betty in ‘IYA’.

Alison has been a consultant for the learning disability charity LD Media and has taken Shakespeare into prisons with the London Shakespeare Workshop. She has also been a ‘Write to Life’ mentor.
