Steffan set out acting at the age of 17, where he had started performing in cabaret shows, writing and performing sketches. He took a more active approach to the art when he joined Masquerade school of performing arts in Malta and started gaining a more extensive level of training both in acting and musical theatre. He took part in several performances here on the island, including ‘Like Totally Weird’, ‘Chicago’, and many more. He considers himself truly lucky as a big dream came true in 2003 when he was accepted at ArtsEd in London and went on to achieving a Degree(hons) in Acting after 3 years of intense studies. This led him to a great number of performances, some also in the West End in London. He enjoyed roles such as: Tibalt ‘Romeo & Juliet’, Fanton ‘Nana’, Jupiter ‘Out of this World’, Henry ‘Present Laughter’ and Jaques ‘As You Like It’, just to name but a few. He also appeared in a few TV dramas on the BBC, ITV and E4, such as ‘Hollyoaks’ and ‘Sold’. On return to Malta, he carried out the lead in MADC’s panto – Simbad the Tailor. Also landed a great role in a few episodes for Italian fiction called ‘Carabinieri’, which aired on Canale 5, and a film called ‘Sotto Protezione’ produced by Sony, 'Dangerous Arrangement', amongst other French and Italian movies/dramas shot last summer. Various commercials and advertising campaigns, such as the launch of Blackberry in Malta and the new 3G launch by Vodafone, Crosscraft ads and some international adverts such as Carlo Pazolini Shoes. Played the role of Jesus in ‘Is it Me?’ at the priory in Mdina and for a second year at St. James Cavalier, ‘Unoriginal Sin’ at the Manoel Theatre and Christian in 'Festen' at Mspace. Worked in a popular local TV drama called ‘Xablott’ where he played the fiery character of Xavier and another TV drama called ‘Katrina’ where he appeared as Dr. Critien. Currently filming on a local drama called Strada Stretta playing the character of Giacomo, whilst just finished play Dennis Depree in a long running musical - Rock of Ages.
