Jean-Marc is a theatre director and arts educational specialist. A graduate of the Guildford School of Acting and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Jean works in learning design and leadership in arts education, he began his journey at Masquerade School for the Performing Arts in 1999, where he trained for 6 years. Jean is currently the director of Learning and Innovation for Studio 18 Malta, and critical lead for culture and creativity for the CHSMC Schools.
Directing credits include #babydaddy, Limbo, Dear Pete, iLand, Inez Kienet Perf, and Il-Giddieb Ghomru Twil (Studio 18), Il-Hajja Xej Kool Ta' Teenager Jismu Julian (Du Theatre, Teatru Aurora), Loveplay (Pagoni Theatre), Evita (Teatru Astra), Brecht’s Ma Kuragg, Xilallu (Teatru Malta), and The Dream Master for the Palestine International Children’s Festival, as well as assistant direction for Grease (Teatru Astra), Così Fan Tutte (Jackdaws, UK) and Orpheus the Mythical (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and Richard Stilgoe).
His directorial work for young audiences includes projects for ZiguZajg, Valletta 2018, Agenzija Zaghzagh, FM Youth, SOPA, Barn Theatre Youth UK, GSA UK, as well as the Sam Wanamaker Festival at Shakespeare's Globe.
