Jasmine Farrugia is a Malta-based musical theatre performer and private tutor who trained at the School of Performing Arts, where she successfully attained her ATCL Diploma in Musical Theatre and Acting. In 2018, her performance as Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (MADC) earned her the People’s Choice Award and a nomination for Young Artist of the Year at the Premju Għall-Arti.
Since then, Jasmine has become a versatile actor on the stage. Her extensive credits include portraying Johanna in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Teatru Manoel), Maria in The Sound of Music (Teatru Astra), Anita in West Side Story (Teatru Astra), Princess Jasmine in Aladdin (MADC), Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew (MADC), and Alice in Alice in Wonderland (Masquerade). Most recently, Jasmine showcased her range by taking on the role of the villainous Mother Gothel in FM Theatre Productions’ panto, Rapunzel.
Beyond the Maltese stage, Jasmine had the privilege of performing at the Chichester Festival in the two-woman show Star of Strait Street alongside the late Polly March, a beloved figure in theatre whose legacy continues to inspire. Having previously portrayed Betty Rizzo for Masquerade, Jasmine is thrilled to step back into the Pink Lady’s shoes and bring the grit back to Rydell High.
