anthony bezzina has been established as a theatre director for over 30 years. Anthony trained at the Manoel Theatre Academy of Dramatic Arts (M.T.A.D.A.) and at Webber Douglas in London. After featuring in various aspects of theatre in Malta, together with his wife Veronica, he launched his own theatre company Masquerade in 1997, a year that would initiate the genesis of many exciting productions and projects.
His work as a director include musicals such as Annie, The King and I, Little Shop of Horrors, Cabaret, 1565 The Musical, The Rocky Horror Show, and Jekyll & Hyde; plays such as Amadeus, Noises Off, Five Kinds of Silence, Who is Sylvia? The Goat, Doubt, Blackbird, Becky Shaw, All New People and and most recently The Last Five Years.
Anthony’s theatre work has also taken him to the US, UK, Italy and other European countries and he is currently working on a number of European and international cultural projects, establishing links with both national and international partners. He is very much sought after to give corporate workshops, and also finds time to give classes.
His latest project has been the realisation of M Space, the new performing arts centre that is now home to MASQUERADE School for the Performing Arts, and other companies and schools that wish to make use of this hub for the performing arts.
