“A play as absurd and paranoid as the times in which we live”
No, it’s not something you hear everyday but that is exactly what we are bringing you with our production of Dario Fo’s Accidental Death Of An Anarchist.
We are taking you to a police station, where a certified lunatic is investigating the suspicious death of a railway worker who ‘fell’ from the fourth-floor window of the police station after being accused and arrested for terrorism.
Our lunatic detective is a pro at improv and you will see him impersonate different people – including a judge – to expose the corruption and incompetence of the police.
This is the first time Fo’s play will be premiered on our shores and director Ian Moore has made sure he gives this play new life with an all-female cast who will be taking on the male roles.
That cast will be led by Maltese favourite, Pia Zammit, and she will be joined by fellow top comediennes Antonella Axisa, Louiselle Vassallo, Maria Caruana, Gabriella Mendes and Samantha Gauci. Together, these women will be bringing the absurd, exposing the corruption and dishing out the comedy all night long.
Masquerade’s production of Accidental Death Of An Anarchist by Dario Fo will be staged at Blue Box - M Space, Oscar Zammit Street, Msida, on 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16 November 2019. Time 8pm. Tickets and more information are available online at www.masquerademalta.com.
