ADULT BALLET BEGINNERS - THURSDAYS 8 - 9PM starting again 5th October at M Space with Miss Elise Ellul
This class is suitable for beginners and/or people with limited dance experience. You will cover the basics of classical technique with an emphasis on enjoyment. These classes will improve your balance, teach you how to move gracefully, and enable you to tone up and develop flexibility.
ABOUT OUR TUTOR - ELISE ELLUL
Elise is a freelance dancer, practitioner and choreographer. She teaches contemporary dance in various established schools, conducting open classes and creative workshops that mainly focus on imagery and dance theatre. She started at a young age in Classical Ballet, Modern Dance and Contemporary Dance, graduating with a Bachelors in Dance Studies at the University of Malta in 2013. Throughout the degree, she has attended various workshops with foreign and local teachers, choreographers and dance performers, increasing her knowledge in dance. Professional works include performing and assisting in the coordination of Elements Dance Collective (2010). In 2014 she performed a physical theatre piece ‘Forget-Me-Not’ with Dù Theatre and a multi-media opera ‘Il-Kantilena’ by Reuben Pace with Contact Dance Company under the direction of Francesca Tranter. She was an apprentice dancer with Zfin Malta Dance Ensemble (2014/2015) with whom she performed in ‘Erbgha’ in Malta as well as Palestine and Jerusalem as part of the Ramallah Dance Festival. She performed ‘Laws of Motion’ with Sandra Mifsud and Douglas Comley in Taliesen Dance Days Festival in Swansea, Wales (2015). She is now a founding member of Żugraga Dance Organisation where she aims to bring dance to the community. Performing with Żugraga Dance in ‘OdysSea’ for a children’s programme Toi Toi Moves, ‘Qatra Qatra’ for the inauguration of the Aquadot in Fleur-De-Lys (2016) and ‘Barcode’, Żugraga’s first full length work (2016).
