MASQUERADE STUDENTS FORM PART OF CHILDREN’S CHOIR IN JOSEPH CALLEJA AND MICHAEL BOLTON CONCERT

Over 250 children accompanied Joseph Calleja and Michael Bolton in their joint concert organized by NnG, which took place on 19th July at the Luxol Grounds in Pembroke.

Students encouraged by Masquerade to audition were chosen amongst these children who had the opportunity to sing with artist Michael Bolton along with esteemed Maltese artists including Joseph Calleja, Ivan Grech, Chiara and one of Masquerade’s own tutors Gillian Zammit. The concert was deemed a success by many of the people who gathered to listen to songs that included famous ballads, operatic arias, and pop songs. These songs included Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s The Prayer, and Winter Moods popular single Marigold. .

According to 15 year old Masquerade student Andre George Agius “As I was handed an application to audition and take part in this concert, I knew at the back of my mind that this was an experience I could not miss out on. It has turned out to be a very memorable experience in my case.”

Singing lots of well-known songs both local and international, brought with it high expectations for the choir since they backed up well-known singers in front of the fully packed Luxol Grounds which holds an estimated 7,500 people all wanting more.
