Masquerade Theatre Company will kick off the theatre season with SIMPLY WEBBER! an unforgettable night of music by the master composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. The concert will feature exciting new arrangements to engage anyone who already loves Webber's songs or those hearing them for the very first time. This is a timely treat for audiences as Lloyd Webber's spectacular musical The Phantom of the Opera has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Arguably the most popular and successful musical theatre composer and producer of our time, the emotional force of Andrew Lloyd Webber's work has captured the attention of audiences for over four decades, lifting them to new heights of exhilaration and emotion after just a few bars of music. His songs have ventured far beyond London's West End and New York's Broadway, reaching theatre stages in every corner of the globe and climbing international pop charts.

SIMPLY WEBBER will feature some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most timeless songs, from Eva Peron's passionate Don't Cry For Me Argentina to the classical masterpiece Gethsemene, from the rock favourite Jesus Christ Superstar to the breathtaking Music of the Night, from The Phantom of the Opera.

SIMPLY WEBBER will feature four acclaimed musical performers Dorothy Bezzina, who recently performed in the Rockestra!, but is also active in the musical theatre scene playing roles such as 'Lucy' in Jekyll & Hyde; Rachel Fabri who currently forms part of the British classical-crossover group All Angels with whom she regularly performs throughout the UK, Cliff Zammit Stevens who is currently studying in the UK but performed in Malta last summer in his own concert; and Roger Tirazona a regular participant of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and a successful contestant in several international song festivals. Guest singers Gian Luca Bezzina, Petra Micallef, Talitha Dimech and Francesca Aquilina will also be contributing to what promises to be an unforgettable night of music. The concert will also feature a 40-strong choir being coached by Roger Tirazona.

Musical Director Kevin Abela will lead a live 9-piece orchestra and the multi-talented cast through all the 'big' moments from Evita, The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sunset Boulevard to the current Love Never Dies, in a breathtaking array of mini-musicals, solo show-stoppers and ensemble pieces. Kevin is no newcomer to musical theatre as he has directed music for Masquerade's musicals Jekyl & Hyde, 13, and pantomimes Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin.

anthony bezzina is directing SIMPLY WEBBER which he says is a an opportuntiy for Maltese audiences to discover local talent while also enjoying some of the most memorable and moving musical theatre pieces by this world-renowned theatre maestro. "We are determined to ensure that our company offers a varied programme throughout the year. We want to ensure that audiences have access to quality performances and for artists to collaborate in new, creative projects."

The concert will take place on Saturday 26th November at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall at the University of Malta. Show starts at 8.00pm
