Christian
Mifsud first got involved in the theatre in 1973 at the
age of 15, working with the St. Aloysius College Stage
Crew. In
1976 he joined MADC following in the footsteps of his
great grandfather, Mikelang Borg.
Starting
with MADC as a stagehand, he assisted various well known
local and foreign stage managers and set designers gaining
valuable experience. Under their tutorship,
he worked his way up to Stage manager and Executive Producer. He
has attended various courses on Set Construction, Stage
Craft, Stage Management and Basic lighting. Over
the years he acquired a vast experience in the organization
and running of Backstage and has conducted Stage management
courses for MTADA and DUTP. He was involved from
day one in Masquerade Theatre Company creating a well set
up Props and Set Construction Department.
Chris
has built up an impressive list of productions, shows,
special events and conferences. Some of the
more memorable productions include: For MADC: Anne of
the Thousand Days, Macbeth, Royal Hunt of the Sun, Becket,
Five Finger Exercise, Much Ado about Nothing, The comedy
of Errors and various pantomimes amongst which was Peter
Pan with the first ever flying equipment used in Malta.
For Atturi: Taking sides. For the Ministry of Culture: Galileo,
1919, The 25th Anniversary Independence Pageant & Song
for Europe 2005
For Masquerade: Annie, Little shop of Horrors, The
King and I, Amadeus, Cabaret, Proof, Gunshy, Dinner with
Friends, Noises Off, 1565 The Musical and The
Odd Couple.
He
has also worked with international artists like Anna
Oxa, Amie Stuart, I Ricchi e Poveri, Mudugnio, Al Bano & Romina
Power, amongst others.
As of June 2004 he was also nominated to sit on the Manoel
Theatre management committee.
