Ian Moore (Director)
Ian is a freelance theatre director with more than four decades experience as a director, playwright and producer.
Born in Sunderland in the North-East of England, his career started at the tender age of eleven with minor roles in a series of classic UK tv shows – When the Boat Comes In, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, Byker Grove, Auf Weidersehen, Pet.
Whilst a jobbing actor he studied English Literature and Theatre Studies at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle.
Following a Post Grad Directing for Theatre course at an independent training academy in York, Ian became CEO and Artistic Director of Black Box, a UK-based theatre company which staged education-themed productions and workshops from 1994 to 2018.
An award-winning playwright, director and producer his theatre credits include: A Christmas Carol (Masquerade Malta / Teatru Manoel co-production) Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Kes (Masquerade Malta), Othello, Lord of the Flies (Teatru Manoel) and UK tours of Hamlet, An Inspector Calls, Of Mice and Men, King Lear, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, Alice in Wonderland, Wind in the Willows to name but a handful.
